Down to Chico Part 2

That saturday we left Susanville in the morning to head down to Chico. We wanted to go visit Great Grandma Hunt before we went to Grandma's for dinner and presents. We had a nice visit with Great Grandma. We sat out on the courtyard with her. She liked the fleece jacket we got for her, for Christmas. And she couldn't believe how grown up the kids were getting.

Then we headed to my mom's (grandma's) house. It was just us, mom, and Great Grandpa Hunt. Ian, Sharla, and baby Chloe weren't able to make it. Gilroy can be such an expensive place to live. So they weren't able to afford the trip. :(

We had such a nice time with Grandma and Great Grandpa though. We visited, played games, and then had dinner at the late hour of 4 pm. lol We had yummy lasagna, 24 hour salad (the best!), olives, broccoli & cauliflower, and other good stuff. Then Mom made her famous cherry cheesecake. Soooo good!

After dinner it was present time. The kids really made out. Dallin received a lot of "Cars" toys. and Sierra got some "Littlest Pet Shop" toys. Dan & I got some new bed sheets that we really needed. And we both got gift cards to Barnes & Noble. Dan also got a movie called "The Boondock Saints". I also received a book about Being Highly Sensitive in a good way, and best of all another vintage OZ book to add to my collection. :)

We got Grandma a box of Mona Vie. And Great Grandpa we got socks (he always asks for socks for Christmas lol) and some home made candy & cookies. And also we got him a box of Mona Vie as well, but it hadn't arrived in time to give to him. So we just had it sent to him, and he received it a few days later.

After the presents, Grandpa had to go before it got too dark out. He doesn't drive very well in the dark. So he made his trip back up to Paradise.

We stayed and visited with mom for a couple more hours. And watched Winnie the Pooh. The kids got it in their presents they had just opened, along with Peter Pan, and Chip & Dale shorts.

We had a wonderful visit. After that we headed to Orland. We were planning on staying in a hotel in Orland that night. We were going to Danny's old ward for Church the next day. So we drove there and got in touch with Jerry Crow. We wanted to meet with him and catch up, since we were in the area and so close. He was at a Christmas party at the Church in Corning. We were in a desserty mood, and decided to meet him at a place in Corning to visit and chow down, just like old times. Ahh I remember our YSA dances, and then a ton of us heading over to Jack's in downtown Chico, or Denny's, at 2 AM afterward. We would always have at least 10 of us, if not more show up there. Good times!

Scott and his wife Sarah Chamberlin joined us as well. They live in Corning and go to that ward as well. It was so fun to see everyone. The Chamberlin's have 2 little boys now, and one baby on the way. And Jerry is very busy at his job and all his other political stuff that he enjoys doing. They are all doing well, and we were happy to have been able to catch up with them. :)
